KNWC, a non-profit Christian radio station based in Sioux Falls, SD, is owned by the University of Northwestern in Saint Paul, MN. Broadcasting Life 96.5 FM, the station reaches audiences across South Dakota and neighboring states with uplifting music. Completed in 2018, the building was partially funded by its loyal listener base, reflecting the strong support the radio station has cultivated over the years. Designed with cutting-edge recording and broadcasting technology, the facility also serves Northwestern students with classrooms and provides administrative office space.


The KNWC building includes two large classrooms, five office spaces, a fully operational radio studio and production space, a kitchen, and a conference room. Exterior finishes including porcelain tile, brick, and pre-engineered paneling complement the structure’s modern and unique aesthetic. Special attention was given to acoustic control and the technological necessities of a regional radio station and collegiate-level education space rolled into one.
