1920s-Inspired, Award-Winning Law Office
The Ribstein and Hogan Law Firm building originally housed Mr. Movies near downtown Brookings, and received major praise in both its outward appearance and inner beauty. Chosen to represent the ‘Arts and Crafts’ style so prevalent in the early 20th century, the exterior speaks to its inspiration while balancing its reliance on existing structure. Just blocks from our Brookings office, this project was close in both proximity and importance, reflecting our commitment to enhancing our community through thoughtful, locally inspired design.
The project illustrates a sensitivity in application of finishes and spatial configuration. Compartmentalizing the open floor plan into a 20’s reminiscent law office shows what designArc Group can imagine when dealing with existing construction. This firm now has a place worthy of its practice and dedication. The adaptive reuse project also garnered a Mayor’s Award the year after substantial completion.
