DSG Waterworks
Project Overview
Office, Warehouse, Operations, Logistics
Dakota Supply Group (DSG), founded in 1898, provides over 65,000 products for a large array of industries including electrical, plumbing, HVAC, refrigeration, communications, utility, automation, waterworks, on-site sewer, water and well, filtration and metering. DSG Waterworks in Sioux Falls, a 33,000-square-foot facility, features two stories of offices connected to a spacious storage warehouse and a dedicated water pump shop. It offers 14 offices, two conference rooms, breakroom, restrooms, a public lobby, and a city desk for professional contractors.

The warehouse, including pump shop, contains roughly 24,500 sq. ft. designed to support efficient operations and accommodate the needs of the century-old company. The building size necessitated a complicated code review and adherence process. On one end is the office area, with the remaining space classified as S-1 moderate hazard occupancy area. Compartmentalization was considered but the project was ultimately given a sprinkler system to allow flexibility to the Client for operations and expansion.
